The Child Health Accountability Tracking Technical Advisory Group was formed in the fall of 2018. The objective of the group is: To provide independent advice to WHO and UNICEF which will: 1) advance the measurement and monitoring agenda for child health and well-being, and 2) guide action and promote accountability for child health and well-being.

A task of the 13 member CHAT was to review submissions to the DHS revision process from key groups working on measurement issues for the time period of 28 days to 9 years of age. CHAT worked closely with the Child Health Task Force on its set of submissions and fully endorses all of them (CHAT is mentioned in the CHTF submissions as part of the working group that prepared them). We gave feedback to the nutrition submissions provided through DataDent, recommendations which our group fully endorses. And, we provided comments to our immunization, HIV, WASH, and early childhood development colleagues on their submission templates. The co-conveners of the CHAT group, Kate Strong (WHO) and Jennifer Requejo (UNICEF) reviewed the recommendation from Countdown to 2030 on adjusting key questions to improve the ability to link the SPA and DHS questionnaires, which we endorse. We will post comments when submissions from these groups are posted.

We thank the DHS program for the opportunity to review the questionnaires and send in our recommendations.
