Following is a response from Senior DHS Stata Specialist, Tom Pullum:
For children age 0-17 (17, not 15), there is a question about whether the mother is alive and in the same household. The answers are coded in hv112-hv113. You can link to the mother to get her education.
You can get other mother-daughter pairs by looking from the mother's perspective. In the IR file, for each child in the birth history there is a code b16 (b16_01, b16_02, etc.), which is the line number of the daughter if she is in the same household as the mother. You can then form mother-daughter pairs, in which the daughter is age 15+ and in the same household as the mother, with the education of both the daughter and the mother.
Such pairs will be very selective, because the mother and daughter must be in the same household. As the age of the daughter increases, it will become less and less likely that she lives in the same household as her mother.
