I notice that typical values in v008a (CDC of interview date) are around 26774. I also believe that CDC is supposed to be the number of days since January 1, 1900. Unfortunately, when I ask Google what date was 26774 days after January 1, 1900, I'm told it was April 22, 1973. So...

For this survey, what is v008a actually measuring? I assume it is 'number of days since _____'. Can someone please fill in the blank, or straighten me out on this?

Thanks!
