Hi,

I am using the 2007 BDHS and need to get the variables on whether domestic violence is justified as reported by the men and domestic violence reported by the women in a single dataset. The man and the woman must be from the same household (preferably husband and wife). I also need their characteristics like age, income/employment status, etc.

My questions:
1> Can you kindly share the appropriate code for merging the HR, IR and MR datasets such that I get men and women from the same HH in the same row in STATA?
2> For the same HH ID, (hv002), I see that I have different division and cluster data which cannot be right as the same HH cannot be in separate divisions. Can someone kindly clarify this?
3> Is there a better way of getting men's and women's data , maybe using the couple's module? In the BDHS couple's module, the violence data is missing even though it is not missing in the IR module.

Thank you in advance.
