Is the DHS data a longitudinal one? [message #13585]

I wonder whether the DHS data is a longitudinal one? I have this question because they conduct several waves of data collection within each country. Do they survey a single family and family members many times across different years? If yes, which identifier should I use to match the data for every single member?
