Following is a response from DHS Stata Specialist, Lindsay Mallick:

You are correct that the questionnaire asks in question 319A where the respondent obtained their current contraceptive the LAST time. This question should have been asked only of those who were using a modern method. I would interpret this to mean where the respondent obtained their current contraception during the most recent time, or their current source. I would not interpret question 319B to be asking about first source. This question is asked only of women using traditional or other methods, a filter from question 312. It appears the Ethiopia 2000 DHS does not ask about first source of modern method, as far as I can see.

To the second issue, v326 and v3a07 are exactly the same, except for the variable label, where v3a07 reads first source and v326 reads last source. Since there are no questions asking of first source, I believe that the label for v3a07 is incorrect.
