I understand the DHS provides maternal history for only births that occurred within 5 years preceding the survey. If I am interested in analyzing antenatal care utilization for the latest birth only, then one would assume that all women who stated that they given birth (within five years) would provide data for this variable.
However, when I do
Tab m14_1 if v208>=1 (respondents that they have given birth within last five years), missing
There is still roughly 2000 not applicable values (.).
Is there a rationale as to why?
In addition, there is no data provided regarding m14_2 , m14_3 and so on. As such, cross tabulation are not matching with data provided in the word document within each dataset folder.
Any clarification will be very helpful.
