I am trying to merge the HIV to the Individual (men and women) datasets for 2005 and 2012 for Cote d'Ivoire. I have sorted(by cluster, household and line) the data on the HIV 2005 dataset and have noticed that there are duplicate records (or at least it looks like it); meaning that there are several records that have the same info in the three variables (cluster, household and line). For example, there are two records that have 1s in the three variables, four records that have 1s in the first two variables but 3s in the third one (line). I am not sure how the merging is going to happen in this case with this issue. Can you please provide an explanation to what this means and what do you suggest for merging the HIV 2005 and Individual Women 2005 datasets together?

The 2012 HIV dataset doesn't have this issue.
