Hello,

I am looking at births-recode data for Stata, and exploring variables m19 and m18 (reported weight at birth of last child and reported perceived size of child at birth).

I am noticing the denominator for m19 and m18 does not match the same variable in the reports.

For example, on page 130 in the Indonesia 2002 report lists the births in the past 5 years as 15,089, but the same denominator for m19 and m18 in the Stata data is 16,206.

I was wondering what, if anything, constitutes these kinds of differences. I had tried dropping data if there were no births in the last 5 years, removing incomplete surveys, and subtracting the "missing" values from m19 and m18's denominator, but it still does not add up.

Thank you for your assistance.
