Dear Leo,
I looked at the surveys containing fistula questions and came up with a list which is attached. If you hover over the comment's you will see the questions from the questionnaire. Currently, these variable are not assigned standard recode variables. In every case they are country specific. All our country specific (survey specific) variables start with the letter S. In most cases our country specific variables are labeled the same as in the questionnaire, except they begin with the letter S. For example: For Ethiopia DHS 2005 "Q1021 Have you ever heard of obstetric fistula (USE LOCAL TERM)? IF NO PROBE: Have you ever heard of a condition in which a woman continuously leaks urine and/or feces following childbirth?" would be called S1021 in the recode file. In general, Household country specific variables would start with SH. Woman with the letter S and Men's country specific variables with SM. I hope this helps. If you have additional questions, please feel free to post again. Thank you!
