The difference between the 2 estimates in both cases is due to the inclusion or exclusion of the Lactational Amenorrhea Method (LAM) (1.4 in Rwanda 2000, and 9.1 in Mozambique 2003). USAID considers LAM to be a modern method, and so the STATcompiler includes LAM in MCPR. In individual surveys LAM has been excluded from MCPR, including in these cases.

For Mozambique 2003 the LAM reporting on 9.1 clearly looks a problem, but it is not clear why.
