The question on multiple sexual partners, is asked of everyone who had sex in the last twelve months.

Marriage in the DHS survey includes people either married or living with a woman/man. It is not limited to people who have a marriage contract.

There are several variables you can use for "ever had sex". One such variable is V525 <> 0 (V525 not equal 0), V525 is "Age at first intercourse", and the value 0 are those who has never had sexual intercourse.

You are encouraged to reference the DHS V Recode Manual as you do your analysis. This manual provides the information necessary to understand the datasets, and it describes each data file and the variables contained in them.
