Following is a response from Senior DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

Ethiopia, Nepal, and Afghanistan have their own calendars. If you start changing the dates in those surveys, you will probably just introduce errors and inconsistencies. It's best to use the dates as they are coded. You can give dates in the Gregorian calendar in your presentation of results (for example, when referring to the dates of the surveys) but there are actually very few places where you will need to do this.
