I am a very new user of DHS data sets. I found that you divided the downloaded files into groups e.g. individual raw, household raw, ... etc. I have two questions though they might sound naive:
- Where can I find the characteristics of each set? In other words, how can I know that I chose the right file? How can I know where the variables that I am looking for are located? How can I know whom each record (observation) represents e.g. male, female, household?
- Does is matter if I used the "recode" version or the raw version? e.g Will my results get affected if I used individual raw than individual recode?

Please, excuse my ignorance as this is the first time I deal with DHS data.

Thank you.
