Hi,

Newbie here.
Simple and probably silly question.
I am looking at the MIS dataset, and in SPSS I see in the variable view:
for variable HV018, Interview identification - Missing 999
for variable HV201, Source of drinking water, Missing 99

what does missing and the numbers 99 and 999 mean in these cases (and for all similar variables)?

What's more strange is that this column doesn't have 99 or 999 or even missing cells when I export to csv.

Thanks for your explanation.
