I transformed the DHS data into a long format (person-periods). I want to recode the variable "number of years of education ("v133") into a time-varying variable.
I want to get the number of years of education attained at each age from the age of 10. The variable varies over time (increases by one year each year) for women who are still in school from ten years old and becomes constant from the age of leaving school (corresponding to each remaining year to the number of years of education attained at the age of leaving school) until the age of marriage or up to the age reached on the survey date if the woman is not yet married at the time of the survey.
To do this, I look for the variable "last year of school attendance" or year of graduation or year of highest degree to make it easier, but I cannot find the variable. Can anyone tell me how to do this?
