There seem to be very few longitudinal DHS surveys in African countries. Does anyone have examples ? Why is DHS not doing (more) longitudinal surveys ? Imagine what we had known if DHS had from the beginning (end of the 1980's) decided to follow up the same individuals and households over time in so many countries.

How could you distinguish the longitudinal ones? Does the country of your interest mention whether its surveys are longitudinal or not? My country of interest does not mention that at all.

In a nutshell, DHS should add the mention: Type of survey: DHS cross-sectional
