Hello everyone,
I am a grad student, new DHSuser and new to data analysis. I'm wondering if anyone can provide instructions on using statcompiler or other means to access subnational data? I am specifically working with India's 2005-6 data sets but would like to work with data from the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Thank you for any advice and information--
Cheers!

Welcome!
There's a tutorial video series as well as print instructions on the STATcompiler homepage (statcompiler.com) that can orient you to how to select countries and indicators. Once you have selected India and an indicator (e.g. Total Fertility Rate) you will get a table that shows the national TFR for the 3 surveys. On the right hand side of your screen there's a blue box called Indicators. In that box, simply check the box for sub-national regions and the table will update with the total fertility rate for all of India's regions including Uttar Pradesh. You can also add indicators to this table using the little green + sign that's at the top right of that indicators box. You can also export the data in your table to Excel.
Does this help?
