Hi,

Are there any indicators in the Kenya DHS 1989-2014 that would proxy how financially literate a woman is? And what is her (or her household's) savings situation?

I have only seen a variable for general literacy. The household bank account variable (hv247) is only available for 2014, and the individual bank account (v170) is not available at all.

If there are no such indicators, which variables would you recommend to most closely match these indicators?

Thanks

Following is a response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:

You can check the questionnaires and files for those surveys and select or construct variables based on what it is that you want to measure. You are the best judge of that and DHS cannot make recommendations.
