I am working with the NFHS-I and NFHS-IV data. I need to match the "household head's years of education" variable in the household data set to the ever-married women dataset. I aim to do this by matching the household numbers from both datasets. However, I found that the household numbers are not unique to each household. For example, household number "9" is repeated for more than one state. This means that there are different values for "years of education of household head" for the same household number. I am unable to differentiate which is the accurate value as there are so many values pertaining to the same household number and household head. Would you please help me with providing an explanation for why it has been coded this way? Alternatively, please provide me with another method of matching this variable into the women's dataset. It is an important control variable for my analysis and I need help urgently.
Thank You.
