In the current DHS, we have a question only about the age at first marriage, that limits the understanding of marriage dissolution and remarriage, especially in sub-Saharan Africa. I propose that for all marriage, we ask questions about date of debut and date of end of the union. We will be then able to also study well marriage dynamics, while coupled with children date of birth.
