Hi,

I'm interested in the variable stating whether a woman can make the final decisions on her own health or not.
In the IR dataset from 2007 for Bangladesh there are 4 options: the respondent herself, her husband, her & her husband jointly or someone else.
I was just wondering if you could tell me who the "someone else" option means?

Thanks!

Following is a response by Senor DHS Stata Specialist, Tom Pullum:

"Someone else" is simply someone other than the respondent or her husband. Possibilities could include the woman's mother, mother-in-law, an older sibling. Anyone at all.
