Hello,

I am using the DHS 2011 Household Survey for Bangladesh data in STATA format. Question 113A asks how regular there is smoking in the home. This question is not found in the data or map file for STATA. Does anyone know what the variable code is? I believe it is not there. I reached out to another researcher who used SPSS, and the variable was included there, but it does not seem to be included in the STATA dataset, or I am just having troubles finding it.

Thank you.

I believe you are looking for HV252: Frequency household members smoke inside the house.

Yes, that is the variable name, but it is not in the STATA map file. I downloaded the household recode for 2011, but could not find "HV252". I downloaded the STATA dataset. In the 2011 questionnaire, it shows that this question was asked during the household survey. I still checked all the other map files of the other surveys, but could not find it

Are you sure you are using the correct file? It should be BDHR61FL.DTA. See the frequency below on that file.
