Hi! i am conducting a study that analyzes the confinement in health facility patterns in the Philippines. In the data set, I will only use those observations with confinement history. Will I still make adjuatments on the weights when I remove the observations with no confinement? If yes, how? If no, why? Thanks

Please see the following response from DHS Specialist, Gulnara Semenov:

Yes, the 2013 NDHS collected data on health care utilization for outpatient and inpatient services for the last 30 days before the survey, including inpatient confinements.

This information can be found in the 2014 NDHS household questionnaire: SECTION 2. HEALTH CARE UTILIZATION. Questions in that section are very similar to the 2008 NDHS Household Questionnaire: questions 15-52, that have been slightly modified in the 2013 survey, and structured separately for outpatient and inpatient services.
