Dear DHSprogram users, I am currently working with the 2015-16 individual Recode dataset for India and going through the final report of the DHS survey, Appendix C-sample design, it appears as if the expected number of interviews was about 670,615 for women age 15-49 (196,987 interviews in urban areas, 470,578 interviews in rural areas, and 3,050 interviews in slums) and about 110,357 for men age 15-54 (34,322 interviews in urban areas and 76,035 interviews in rural areas and slums).

when downloading the individual recode dataset it contains 2, 869,043 respondents. How can I interpret this amount of observations, have I misinterpreted how many interviews were conducted for the Individual recode?

Thanks,

Gusvard
