Hi there,

I am using Nepal DHS datasets for my dissertation research and planning on using v131 which is the variable on ethnicity.

Given that the raw data downloaded show that the coded ethnic groups are more than 50 in both 2001 and 2006 datasets while the respective Final Report (p.24 of Final Report 2001 and p.36 of Final Report 2006), the show that the coded ethnic groups are just above 10, I was wondering how the raw data was coded into the smaller list of categories in the respective Final Report from 2001 and 2006.

Thank you.

Hello Mkyo,

I have the same question as you- were you able to find the answer anywhere?
