Hi,

How do I create a dataset for children like those already created for the more recent DHS datasets in Stata. The Senegal 1999 DHS has individual and household .dta files only.

DHS 1999 also doesn't have the standard DHS variable names - is there a do file that can be applied to make the 1999 DHS variables like the other DHS? Otherwise how can I append the children datasets from the later DHS phases?

Thanks
Divya

There is no standard recode data for Senegal 1999, since MEASURE DHS provided very limited technical assistance in the data collection effort, and the survey is not considered to be a "real" Standard DHS.

There are no standard/recode DHS variable names in the Senegal 1999 datasets, because again, the files are distributed only as "raw" data. And for this same reason, we did not create a child recode dataset.

And there are no plans to recode this survey.

I hope this answers your questions.
