Hello,
I am using 2016 Ethiopian Demographic and Health Survey to analyze the predictors of contraceptive use among women age 15 to 49 in Ethiopia using the social-ecological model. I have identified variables from woman's and man's file. I am trying to merge few variables from man's file to woman's file. Those variables are:
1. Contraception is a woman's concern and a man should not have to worry about it (MV3B25A)
2. Women who use contraception may become promiscuous (MV3B25B)
Is merging allowed? I appreciate your help.

You could easily use the Couple's Dataset. This dataset has one record for every couple. It contains data for married or living together men and woman who both declared to be married (living together) to each other and with completed individual interviews (questionnaires). Essentially the file is the result of linking the Individual Women and Men data files based on whom they both declared as partners. The unit of analysis (case) in this file is the couple in which both partners were interviewed.

Thanks, Bridgette for responding to my question. I am trying to include both married and unmarried women, and want "individual woman" as the unit of analysis.

There are several posts on the forum on merging DHS data, and you can also reference the page: https://www.dhsprogram.com/data/Merging-Datasets.cfm.
