I believe they were asking about the recode manual for DHS phase 7 which I too couldn't find.
I see the latest is recode manual for phase 6.

https://dhsprogram.com/publications/publication-dhsg4-dhs-qu estionnaires-and-manuals.cfm

thanks

We are currently in the process of updating the DHS-7 Recode Manual. We will email you as soon as it is publicly available. In the meantime, please reference the DHS-VI Recode Manual

hello,
I'm interested to know about the coding of variables with $ sign in IR file.
say BORD$03.
please tell me how these variables are coded.
I've already studied Recode manual-VI,
there is no mention about $ signs
there is a variable BORD.
which is used in KR and BR file.
For my research interest I need to work on IR file need to create a variable using $ signs.
Say M18 by merging M18$1,....,M18$6 in spss file.please help me.

As a new user, you may find IPUMS DHS easier to use. You can use your DHS email and password to log in.

Click on WOMEN as your unit of analysis. Those data correspond to the IR file, but also have all the household variables attached. Select the sample Bangladesh 2014. Then you can browse the variables by topic in the drop-down menu.

Each variable name is a link. Click on it to get more information on the variable.

To answer your specific question, the $ in the original DHS data indicates the same question being asked regarding multiple children, for example, their dates of birth. You can select information for a woman's most recent birth or for all of her births when you use IPUMS DHS.

You can find more information on IPUMS DHS on other posts.
