How did the 2016 EDHS defined a bank account can it be any savings account or does it have to be in a formal bank? If they have an M-birr account, is that a bank account? (They can receive mobile money)

Following is a response from Senior DHS Specialist, Yodit Bekele:

Q. 123 specifies whether any member has an account with a bank, credit association or other similar organization in which they can deposit and withdraw funds. This does not include savings programs at the community level nor mobile banking. However, we have Q. 117 in the woman's questionnaire that asks a specific question on financial transactions by mobile phone.
