Hello,

I am interested in doing a multilevel analysis looking at individuals nested within interviewers. I am trying to merge the fieldworker data with the IR and MR. I want a single file that includes men and women (as individuals)and the interviewer information.

I followed steps in a previous post on appending the IR and MR. Should I follow the same steps and append the fieldworker data as well? I am stuck because the variables to sort on (v001 v002 v003) are not included in the fieldworker questionnaire. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thank you

Following is a response from Senior DHS Stata Specialist, Tom Pullum:

In the fieldworker files, the interviewer id code is fw101. In the PR file it is hv028; in the IR file it is v018; in the MR file it is mv018. Those are the id codes that you must give the same name and sort and merge on. The respondents' id codes are irrelevant.

Thanks so much for your response. Just to clarify, I am working with the Zimbabwe 2015 DHS, and I see the interviewer ID coded as v028 in the IR file and mv028 in the MR, so I will plan to sort and merge on these codes.
