Dear Forum,

I am using the DHS 2014 data set of Bangladesh. DHS-6. I am facing trouble to define the overweight and obese of child 0-5 years of age.

I need help to understand the variables hw7 (Weight/ age percentile), hw8 (weight /age SD), hw10 (weight/height percentile), hw11 ( Weight/ height SD).

As for example in a data set there is: hw7 (Weight/ age percentile) 3190. What does it mean actually?

As for example in a data set there is: hw8 (Weight/ age percentile) -187. What does it mean actually?

Thanks,

Dear User, The Standard Recode Manual for DHS-6 contains an example of a Height and Weight table. This may help. Take a look at page 80.
The Standard Recode Manual can be found here:https:// dhsprogram.com/pubs/pdf/DHSG4/Recode6_DHS_22March2013_DHSG4. pdf
