Good day, please I would like to know the difference between number of children and number of living children in table 11.2 of the NDHS 2003 survey.thanks

The difference here is that the column labeled "Number of children" refers to those mentioned in the table title, specifically the "number of youngest children under three years living with the mother". This denominator relates to the columns preceding it in the table. The "Number of living children" column is the denominator for the column "using a bottle with a nipple" which has a footnote explaining the denominator - and includes all children under three years of age (irrespective of whether they are the youngest and whether they live with their mother).
