Hello, I would like to create crosstabs by various characteristics on child marriage.
One of the used definition to calculate this is proportion of 20-24 year olds married before the age of 18.
How do I go about creating this variable "Proportion of 20-24 year olds married before age 18" in the raw 2013 SLDHS so that I can crosstab with education, wealth quintile etc?

Following is a response from Senior DHS Stata Specialist, Tom Pullum:

The following lines will construct a binary variable that is 1 if the first cohabitation occurred before 18, 0 otherwise, and NA if current age is not 20-24. For this survey, the overall percentage is 38.9.

gen married_before_18=0
replace married_before_18=1 if v509-v011<12*18
replace married_before_18=. if v013~=2
tab married_before_18 [iweight=v005/1000000],m
tab married_before_18 [iweight=v005/1000000]
