Interview years different from survey years [message #12188]

Dear all,

I currently work with DHS data (Standard DHS and georeference) from different countries, including Ethiopia.
For all countries I have seen so far, the Year of the survey was also the year in which most of the interviews (as seen by variable v007) were undertaken.
Sometimes, the years overlap a little and some of the interviews were made in the year before or after the "survey year".

However, after downloading the data (in .dta format) for Ethiopia (2000, 2005 and 2011) I saw that the year of interview (v007) shows completly different years (1992 for the 2000 wave, 1997 for the 2005 wave and 2003 for the 2011 wave).
Is that a mistake or does this have a specific reason in the Ethiopia surveys?
