Hi DHS team,
I am trying to identify mother or husband sector of employment (public vs private). I can see for example v704 but for many cases I cannot precesiely identify them as public vs private sector workers. Can you think of a rule I may use?

Following is a response from DHS Senior Research Associate, Shireen Assaf:

v716 and v704 are the only variables related to occupation. I just checked the Egypt 2014 data to confirm and also the final report just in case. The DHS does not identify if the occupation is in the private or public sector.
