Hello! I am using DHS-VII for my analysis, and in all of the recode materials, it refers to women's and men's surveys, however for Tanzania's 2015-2016 data sets, there is only Individual Recode and Men's Recode. I am working with Individual, but the recode manual says that this includes men and women? I cannot find a variable for gender/sex, so how can I isolate only female responses? Are the women interviewed ever-married only? This was not clear to me.

Thank you!
Kira

Dear User,
The IR data set usually refers to women. The MR data set refers to men. For more information on our recodes, please refer to our Standard Recode Manual http:// www.dhsprogram.com/publications/publication-dhsg4-dhs-questi onnaires-and-manuals.cfm

I am using the Tanzania and Senegal women's database (IR) and I don't find observations for variables such as "can refuse sex" and "can ask partner to use a condom". On the other hand, for South Africa and Tanzania i don't find observations for women's religion (v130). So I want to confirm that these variables are not available in this survey.

In addition, in the Benin database, I observe many missing values (app. 45%) for the women's sexual power variables (v850a and v850b).
