I am searching the NFHS3 Men's Recode File for data on the variables mv835a, mv835b, and mv835c. These are variables on alcohol consumption during intercourse. These are listed in the recode file for DHSV and are listed as variables in the NFHS3 data, but searching on these variables (using STATA) brings up "no observations." Are this data included in the NFHS3?

These variables are in the recode manual, because they are standard variables. However, if you look at the variable labels, you will see the string: "-NA", which is always an indication that a variable is "not applicable", because the question was not asked in a particular country. The "NA" is either at the start or end of the variable label.

e.g. MV835A: Alcohol consumption last ti-NA
