Hellos. Could you kindly help me with ideas on how I can identify and analysing dyads(mother, child) and families (mother, father, and child) from a household roster. I have linked the mother file, household file to the child file, and what I am wondering is how I can locate relationship of the child to the other household members. Currently I can specify relationship of all houehold members to the household head. Thanks and I look forward to your suggestions and any literature related to best way to study household relationships.

Here is a response from one of our Senior Data Processing Specialists, Noureddine Abderrahim:

The household questionnaire does not collect the relationship to the different members of the household. The relationship to the head of the household can give an idea about the relationship between the members but not in all cases. An example is: children of the head of the household are brothers and sisters.
