Dear DHS Program,

Is there any variable that may indicate "birth order" for each birth from women who gave birth in the last 5 years ("v208>0", Indonesia DHS 2012). I understand that, for example, "m3a_1" indicates whether the assistance during delivery from the latest birth is doctor; and "m15_1" indicates place of delivery of the latest birth. Which variable may indicate that this latest birth is the woman's 1st/2nd/3rd/.. birth?

Thank you.

Dear User,
There is a variable called BORD - Birth order number gives the order in which the children were born and so is the reverse order from BIDX. This and other useful information regarding the variables is contained in our Standard Recode Manual which can be downloaded from our website and by clicking on this link http:// www.dhsprogram.com/publications/publication-dhsg4-dhs-questi onnaires-and-manuals.cfm also The Guide to DHS Statistics contains a wealth of information http:// www.dhsprogram.com/publications/publication-dhsg1-dhs-questi onnaires-and-manuals.cfm
If you have additional questions, please feel free to post again. Thank you!
