Hello,

Please, I want to know if I could use the data directly without converting to percentage of the population sampled. My thought is that DHS is randomly sampled from the population.

DHS data are not randomly sampled from the population, but a complex sampling scheme (usually two-stage cluster sampling) is employed. The DHS final report for the specific country and year will tell you exactly how the sampling was done. This means you will need to make some adjustments to the estimates (e.g., clustering, weighting, or both) if you want to make population-level inferences.
