I am seeking clarification on whether regional dummies were used in the construction of the PCA Wealth Index for Kenya's 2008/09 wave. I am intending to run a household level analysis on determinants of poverty using the wealth index and selected household level characteristics. Among them is the location in which the household is located (i.e. regional or urban/rural). Had this variable been used in constructing the index, my results will not necessarily capture "determinants of poverty". Kindly assist.

No geographic areas were used in constructing the Kenya 2008 survey.

Thank you!
