The 2008-2009 Kenya DHS has 5368 children in the KR dataset with the variables hw1 (age in months) and hw2 (weight in kilograms) defined. These children are also in the PR dataset, and for these children kr:hw1 = pr:hc1 and kr:hw2 = pr:hc2. The PR dataset also contains 579 additional children for which the hc1 and hc2 variables are defined. How did it happen that there are children with these variables defined in PR but not KR?

Many thanks,

Bill

This thread might be helpful - it could be an issue which children are included in which recode:

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, the children in PR with defined hc1 and hc2 who are not in KR all have hc60 (the mother's line number) as either "Mother not de facto" or "Mother not in household".

Many thanks,

Bill
