hi!

I have already extracted the variables and observations necessary for my analysis but I have a problem regarding on matching the sample size on my dataset to the 2013 Final Report (Violence Against Women).

There's actually a variable that measures whether the woman is selected or not for domestic violence module. I tried selecting those who were selected, and unfortunately the number of cases does not match to the 2013 Final Report.

Note: I only do the matching to fully understand how the report was done since I think it would be a great help for our study.

Thank you.

Dear User,
Can you give us an idea regarding the dataset(s) you are working with? When you produce statistics on domestic violence, please use the domestic violence weight, and no other weight combined with it.
Thank you for your post.

I'm not actually through with my analysis. I extracted the observations by v044 (if the woman was selected for DV module), marital status (deselected women not in union) and region (national capital region) of the respondents. I came up with only 942 observations. When I looked at the # of ever-married women (Phil 2013 Final Report) in National Capital Region, mine and the report do not match. There were actually 1144 ever-married women in the Final Report.

Another question, what variable would I choose for the wealth index of the couple? V190 or swlthiur?

Again, thank you.

Hi Ms. Liz of DHS!

Sorry for disturbing you and your colleagues with my issue on the dataset. I now understand why mine did not match with the Final Report. (The places of residence of the interviewed visitors are not included in the dataset.)

I appreciate your effort on dealing with this problem. Thank you for the responses you did.

Kudos to you and to the whole DHS!
