I am reaching out to kindly request access to comprehensive migration datasets, particularly those containing indicators at the subnational or village level with georeferenced information. Our project focuses on analyzing migration patterns and their localized impacts to inform targeted policy development and planning. The project is focused on developing a new interface that integrates statistics on poverty, conflict, climate, migration, and other social indicators at the subnational level. Our goal is to collaborate with African Member States to customize these interfaces according to their priorities, thereby enhancing targeted public policies for poverty alleviation and social development.
Specifically, I would be grateful if you could provide:
• Migration flow indicators at the subnational or village level
• Georeferenced data, such as coordinates, shapefiles, or GIS-compatible formats
• Metadata detailing data collection methods, timeframes, and definitions
Your support will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and granularity of our analysis. Please advise if there are specific forms to complete or contacts to reach out to for this purpose.
Moreover, capturing migration streams--both domestic and international--that can be geo-coded will also be extremely valuable. Incorporating local population estimates and densities could also enrich our analysis.
