I have tried to recreate many statistics from the Nepal report. However, the codes for a lot of indicators/variable seem to be outdated in the Github repository and do not account for new categories within a field and changes in definition for different fields and indicators.

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

There are two likely reasons why you are not getting matches. The first is that the latest survey in Nepal was part of DHS-8. So far we have released 15 DHS-8 surveys. (Should be more, because we are already in DHS-9, but we lost nearly two years of fieldwork because of COVID.) There were changes in the questionnaire, the tabulation plan, and the definitions of some indicators. Many of the GitHub programs have been updated for DHS-8. (We apologize for the delay in getting them all uploaded to the website.)

A second reason is that most surveys differ from the standard in several ways because of country-specific categories. You may be running into such differences.

There have been many posts on the tables in the latest Nepal report. Please look for them. If you still have problems matching specific tables or indicators, let us know and we will try to help.
