Good morning.

My name is Akatoka Chitima Mwanalushi. I'm a student at the University of Zambia carrying out a research on the impact of women empowerment on child mortality. I chose logistic regression as my multivariate analysis but apparently,my first categories in my analysis with the dependent variable tends to be dropped or omitted. How do I go about it?

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

What survey are you using, what data file, and how did you define your dependent variable? In logit regression, it is normal for coefficients to be given for the "1" category and not for the "0" or reference category.
