Dear DHS team,

In the KR file there is a variable v016 which gives information about mothers education. This variable has 4 levels, 0,1,2,3. I could not find anywhere what these levels refer to. Could you tell me what the labels of 0,1,2,3 for education.

Thank you

Best
Mahir

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

I believe there is a typo in your question. v016 is always the day of interview (within the month). v006 is month of interview. You must be referred to v106, highest level of education. There are several ways to get the category labels. The easiest is "tab v106". Here they are, in all DHS surveys:

0 no education
1 primary
2 secondary
3 higher

There have been several other posts on how to use the education variables. Mahir, please make sure, in the subject line or within the question, that you say what survey you are using.
