Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if it is appropriate to merge household member data set and couple dataset together.
Also, is there a way I can get the English version of the Benin 2017 DHS report?

Thank you.

I used google translate after breaking the report into 3 sections.

Thank you everyone for your help.

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

In the CR file, each case is a matched couple from the same household. Each record includes v001 v002 v003 as the identifier for the woman member of the couple and mv001 mv002 mv003 for the man. You can merge the woman's PR data by matching v001 v002 v003 with hv001 hv002 hvidx and the man's PR data by matching mv001 mv002 mv003 with hv001 hv002 hvidx. If you only want to copy household-specific variables onto the CR record, you can open the HR file, drop the individual-level variables with "* _*", and matchv001 v002 with hv001 hv002. (That will give exactly the same result as matching mv001 mv002 with hv001 hv002.)

There is not an English language version of the Benin 2017 report. I don't believe that any final reports in French, Spanish, or Portuguese have been translated into English.

Thank you very much for the feedback.

I am now running segregated analysis based on men and women (these datasets have hypertension).

Thank you.
