I am writing a research thesis that primarily focuses on multidimensional poverty and how it impacts antenatal care utilization. I wanted to ask if there was a way in which i could decompose or recode the wealth quantiles into an MPI or if there is a specific data set i could use to come up with an index. your help will be highly appreciated. if someone was able to already did it, please point me towards the codes they used.

Hello Amanda,
While we have not used the multidimensional poverty index much in our work at the DHS Program and so don't have specific code to share, UNDP has a page where they share code to calculate the MPI based on DHS data, depending on the country dataset you are using: https://hdr.undp.org/mpi-statistical-programmes

I hope this is helpful!

Sara
